The use of competition law is relatively new, not only for Ukraine but also for all post-Soviet countries since the Soviet Union economy had no competition and there weren't any stock market, markets, insurance and banking services, in the planned economy. The art. 42 of the Constitution enshrine the principle of the state of competition in entrepreneurial activity. The main legal acts in this specific area is the Law of Ukraine «On Protection Against Unfair Competition», «On Protection of Economic Competition», «On Natural Monopolies», «On the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine» and other regulations that promote the protection of fair competition in Ukraine. Law firm «Dynasty», in its practice of providing the following types of legal assistance in the field of competition law: • Protection of Economic Competition; • concentration of economic entities; • permits the acquisition of corporate rights, joint ventures, the appointment of business leaders, members of government enterprises; • concerted action; • protection against unfair competition. As an example, the law firm «Dynasty» in October 2008 received the consent of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine for the acquisition of its client - an individual with British company - the seller of 50 per cent stake in CJSC «Dnepropetrovsk meat». The difficulty of obtaining the consent of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine was because it was necessary to prove that the acquisition of 50 per cent stake would not worsen the competitive position in the market of relevant trade.
